History of Baseball Talk

If you guys haven't heard about Baseball Talk, I'm glad because now you have. BaPseball Talk was started in the summer of 2004 by three avid baseball lovers. Yes, I'm talking about myself, Phil Ebiner, Christian Hartnett, and Justin Dillon. All three of us grew up together and went to St. Louise de Marillac elementary school in Covina California. We then went to Damien High School together. During one long afternoon in the summer of '04, Phil and Christian were hanging out, bored. So as they chatted about baseball (like they always did) they thought that they should video tape a short talk show. A few hours later, Baseball Talk was born. We sent that tape to San Dimas's Community Television channel to see if they would play it. Ken Pucci, the Local Origination Manager loved the tape and thought we should come up and do a few episodes. Never would we or he have thought that we would still be here, 142 episodes later. But we are, for better or for worse. Most of our episodes took place at the San Dimas/Glendora Public Access studio. We also got out of the studio and did episodes at our houses, on the field, and many other places. After about 60 episodes, Justin Dillon transferred to another high school and he couldn't co-host Baseball Talk any longer. But Christian and Phil stuck with it. During their senior year at Damien High, they completed their 100th episode which was a huge accomplishment. They continued for the rest of the year and into summer. Christian and I are now attending college. Christian is at Chapman University studying Television and Broadcast Journalism. I am at Loyola Marymount University studying Film and Television Production. Being away at college hasn't stopped us from doing Baseball Talk episodes. Although we are no longer able to do weekly episodes, we do as many as possible when we get together. Now we are off for summer and ready for more! So check back soon for our newest episodes!
